Matthew P. Burkholder
Hi. My name is Aaron Guderjahn. Matthew Burkholder was my best friend. He died Dec 27th, 2012, and as the title suggests, I am gathering here all the stories I can about the life of Matthew Burkholder. My stories but also your stories. If you knew Matt and have a story about him, any kind of story that you want to share, you can submit it here and I will publish it! Then we can all share and enjoy all the wonderful stories about this wonderful man.
Maybe I should make this clear, he was MY best friend. but I have no idea who his best friend was. I do not make any claims to who his best friend was. Matt had a LOT of friends. I was meeting with him regularly and re-getting to know him again when he died. We had been close in high school and then drifted apart when I got a family and stopped doing theatre regularly. We still talked, but less frequently. He always was my best friend. I never made friends like Matt did. But I think Matt might have been a lot of peoples best friend. It wouldn't surprise me.
I knew him ever since high school, but I missed out on about 10 years or more of his life. Mostly the last ten years. Other people only met him in the last ten years. Together we can all learn about his whole life and share it. Happy stories, touching stories. Funny, dirty and personal stories. Stories from the theatre, stories from his personal life, stories about how you met him. Stories about how he made you laugh. Stories about how he inspired you and even stories about his cat. Any stories you want to share. I look forward to reading and sharing your stories! Thank you.
I am also planning on putting on this website all other aspects of Matt's creative life that I can. He was a brilliant artist, singer, actor, director, writer, and teacher. Not necessarily in that order. Nor is that a complete list. So as I acquire more of his representative material I will be putting that on this website as well. If you have anything of that nature you would like to share with the world, you can submit it on the Contact Me page. Again, thank you.
